WORLD WAR III vs. BITCOIN’S CIVIL WAR: How Wars Are Really Won | Simon Dixon Hard Talk LIVE

by Simon Dixon
Aug 25, 2026

Hey hey sovereign wealth builders,

This is a single, continuous broadcast that connects the physical macro battlegrounds of our global transition with the technological wars of the Bitcoin network.

In today's livestream, you can expect a breakdown of the quiet de-dollarisation and sovereign debt doom loop, followed by two critical deep-dive interviews I recently recorded with Doomberg and Nathan from BTC Sessions. In my view, we are entering a phase of fiscal dominance where traditional sovereign debt is buckling under interest expenses, while our digital citadel is facing unprecedented centralisation pressure from both Wall Street and security exploits.

Today's show is divided into two highly connected segments, each featuring an in-depth update from me followed by a pre-recorded interview. I highly recommend watching both parts in sequence to understand how these macro and micro forces converge.

The Two Segments of Today's Show

PART ONE: Everyone's Sleepwalking Through the Biggest Event of Our Lives | Simon Dixon & Doomberg

This first segment begins with a 30-minute macro and geopolitical live update from me, followed by a 1-hour and 50-minute pre-recorded discussion with Doomberg, hosted by BTC Sessions.

In this debate, we examine the reality of the "forever wars," why the US is transitioning into a regional power, and how China's growing energy independence is eroding US maritime leverage. We also clash on the real power of BlackRock, market efficiency, and why global savers are quietly abandoning US debt for gold.

  • Why you should watch: In my view, the mainstream media acts as a mouthpiece for the financial industrial complex, keeping you distracted. This segment exposes the structural shifts in the global reserve system that most are sleepwalking right through.

PART TWO: Exiting the Battle for Bitcoin Is Not an Option | Simon Dixon x BTC Sessions

Following Part One, we transition into a 33-minute update from me, followed by a 45-minute pre-recorded interview with Nathan from BTC Sessions.

In this part, we perform a vital postmortem on the recent Bitcoin civil war and the failed BIP-110 soft fork, which mined only two blocks and fell more than 700 blocks behind the legacy chain after 99.85% of Bitcoin's hashpower stayed with the legacy chain. I will walk you through the key lessons of policy versus consensus, and why I believe exiting this battle is simply not an option if we want to defend our digital citadel. I’ll also share how I’ll handle the hard fork and what you need to know.

  • Why you should watch: Wall Street and centralised entities are actively trying to capture Bitcoin through custody and financialization. We will address the recent security attacks on self-custody—including the $100M+ Cold Card entropy exploit, Trezor’s shipping provider data breach, and Tether's historic audit—to show you how we must respond to protect our sovereignty.

Weekly Macro & Market Updates

Before we dive into the livestream, here is your high-signal briefing of the key updates driving the global reset this week:

  • Sovereign Debt Doom Loop: The US posted its largest July budget deficit in history at $432 billion. Monthly interest on US debt rose to $118 billion (bringing the FY2026 total to $1.17 trillion), officially surpassing both National Defense and Medicare spending. In my view, the US cannot afford these higher interest rates.

  • Treasury Market Stress: The US 30-year Treasury auction cleared at 5.216%—the highest rate in 25 years—proving that global savers are increasingly declining US debt. The 10-year Treasury sits at 4.684%.

  • China’s Energy Sovereignty Shift: China’s domestic LNG production rose 14.3% year-on-year, representing 72% of its supply and significantly weakening US maritime leverage.

  • De-Dollarisation Accelerates: Deutsche Bank has become the first non-Chinese bank in Europe cleared to settle renminbi payments directly from Frankfurt.

  • The Gold Flight: Spot gold is steady near all-time highs at $4,342 an ounce, up 29% in a year as central banks aggressively accumulate real assets.

  • Tether Audit: Tether has completed the largest inaugural financial audit in history with KPMG, confirming its reserves are fully over-collateralised with gold and US Treasuries held at Cantor Fitzgerald.

  • Wall Street Centralisation: BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF has dropped its minimum in-kind transfer threshold from $25M down to $1M, actively aiming to centralize more supply under Coinbase custody.

  • Self-Custody Exploits: We address the tragic $100M+ Cold Card entropy exploit (affecting over 2,000 coins), alongside Trezor’s shipping provider data breach affecting new US, UK, and European customers from the past 90 days.

  • Tech Industrial Complex Bubble: Anthropic has announced a $2 trillion IPO for October, reflecting valuations that in my view do not represent reality but showcase the massive rush into AI and robotics.

Peace.
