How Israel Stole the Bomb and Murdered a President: Uncovering the NUMEC Conspiracy
Jun 25, 2025On November 22, 1963, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy shook the world and altered the course of history. While official narratives have pointed fingers in various directions for decades, a deeper, more disturbing story has remained buried—a story of international espionage, nuclear theft, and the subversion of a sovereign nation by a powerful foreign interest.
The documentary NUMEC: How Israel Stole the Atomic Bomb and Killed JFK by independent journalist Ryan Dawson brings this hidden history into the light. Dawson’s meticulous investigation exposes a criminal conspiracy that began with post-World War II arms smuggling and escalated to the theft of weapons-grade uranium from the heart of America, ultimately culminating in the removal of a US president who stood in its way.
As we peel back the layers of deception, we find that the world’s most critical events are rarely what they seem. They are driven not by the noble causes fed to the public, but by ruthless struggles for power, wealth, and geopolitical dominance.
The Criminal Network Behind the Bomb
Dawson's documentary argues that the plot to arm Israel with nuclear weapons was not a state-on-state agreement but a covert operation driven by a network of Zionist organizations, wealthy financiers, and organized crime. The film details how, in the years after World War II, groups like the Haganah and the Jewish Agency exploited the global chaos to establish sophisticated arms smuggling operations.
This network, dubbed the “Sonnborn Group” after its New York City meeting place, brought together Jewish Agency leadership, wealthy American Zionists, and mafia figures like Meyer Lansky. On paper, their fundraising efforts were for "charities" to help Holocaust victims; in reality, they were a front for laundering money and illegally trafficking weapons. These operations, which involved bribing officials and using mafia-controlled docks, were the blueprint for a much greater crime.
The endgame was the atomic bomb. The documentary pinpoints the Nuclear Materials and Equipment Corporation (NUMEC) plant in Apollo, Pennsylvania, as the epicentre of the theft. Founded in 1956 by Dr. Zalman Shapiro, a committed Zionist, NUMEC handled highly enriched uranium (HEU) for the US government. Under Shapiro’s leadership, an unprecedented amount of weapons-grade uranium went missing—hundreds of kilograms, far more than any other facility in the country.
According to CIA and FBI investigations detailed in the film, this wasn't an accident. Eyewitnesses described seeing Shapiro nervously overseeing the late-night loading of sealed containers of HEU onto trucks destined for Israel via Zim shipping lines. The evidence became undeniable when CIA agents collected environmental samples outside Israel’s Dimona nuclear site and found traces of the exact same 97.7% enriched uranium that was unique to the US naval program and processed at NUMEC.
JFK, FARA, and the Assassination
So, where does President Kennedy fit in? JFK’s administration was not blind to Israel's nuclear ambitions. He repeatedly demanded that Israel allow international inspections of its Dimona facility, which Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion constantly obstructed with lies and deception.
Kennedy’s pressure became a mortal threat to Israel’s plans. He told his advisers, “The sons of bitches lie to me constantly about their nuclear capacity.” Under this immense pressure, Ben-Gurion resigned in 1963.
But JFK didn’t stop there. His brother, Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, was simultaneously moving to force the American Zionist Council—the precursor to AIPAC—to register as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). This would have exposed the lobbying group as an arm of a foreign government and crippled its influence in Washington. In October 1963, RFK gave the council a 72-hour ultimatum to comply.
One month later, President Kennedy was assassinated.
With JFK gone and Lyndon B. Johnson in the White House, everything changed. LBJ, whom the film describes as a compromised Zionist with family ties to the cause, immediately eased the pressure on Israel. The FARA investigation was quietly dropped, the NUMEC investigation was stalled, and Israel’s nuclear program proceeded without interference.
Who Benefits?
As I’ve always said, to understand why things happen, you have to follow the money and ask: who benefits? The documentary makes a chilling case that a foreign power orchestrated the murder of a US president to secure its own military dominance. But the beneficiaries extend far beyond a single nation.
The true winners are the architects of the global war machine: the military-industrial complex and the intelligence agencies—CIA, MI6, Mossad—that thrive on perpetual conflict and secrecy. By allowing this cabal to operate with impunity, the United States effectively lost its sovereignty. Its foreign policy became a tool for a criminal network, dragging the nation into one disastrous war after another, from the attack on the USS Liberty to the neocon-driven invasion of Iraq.
This is the system we live in today—one where national interests are sacrificed for the profits of a few, where truth is buried by propaganda, and where dissent is silenced. The tools of control are only becoming more sophisticated, with the rise of Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and AI promising to tighten the grip of the powerful.
A Call to Action
The truth has always been our most powerful weapon. By uncovering the real motives behind pivotal historical events like the JFK assassination and the theft at NUMEC, we can begin to resist the manipulation that keeps us divided and controlled. We must question everything we are told by the mainstream media and governments, which have proven time and again to be agents of deception.
If you care about your sovereignty, you’re not alone—and you’re not early either. People are waking up. Fast.
