WORLD WAR III vs. BITCOIN’S CIVIL WAR: How Wars Are Really Won | Simon Dixon Hard Talk LIVE
We connect the physical macro battlegrounds of our global transition with the technological wars of the Bitcoin network.
In my view, the strategic lessons we draw from the Bitcoin civil war can help us understand the upcoming AI military and physical war. Before diving into my debate with Doomberg, I shared critical updates on our transition to multipolarity. These include the massive $2 trillion Anthropic IPO coming in October—demonstrating how tech valuations are decoupling from reality—and Deutsche Bank becoming the first non-Chinese bank in Europe permitted to clear Renminbi payments directly from Frankfurt.
I also shared a personal milestone: I am currently writing Chapter 21, the final chapter of my upcoming book, The Game of Money, which maps out how individuals, businesses, and countries can transition from subordinate to sovereign. I am already drafting a follow-up book to apply this exact methodology to the history and future of Bitcoin.
PART ONE: Everyone's Sleepwalking Through the Biggest Event of Our Lives | Simon Dixon & Doomberg
In our debate, Doomberg and I examined the reality of the "forever wars" and the transition to a multipolar world. In my opinion, the US is trapped in a sovereign debt doom loop, as its July deficit hit a record $432 billion, and monthly interest expenses of $118 billion (bringing the FY2026 total to $1.17 trillion) officially surpassed both national defense and Medicare spending. Additionally, the US 30-year Treasury auction cleared at 5.216%, proving that global savers are increasingly declining US debt. Geopolitically, we discussed the decline of US maritime leverage as China’s domestic LNG production rises to represent 72% of its consumption. While Doomberg clashingly views BlackRock as a relatively passive, pass-through investment vehicle, my interpretation is that their immense data networks like Aladdin and massive capital flows are programmatically building a tokenised control grid by influencing capital flows.
PART TWO: Exiting the Battle for Bitcoin Is Not an Option | Simon Dixon x BTC Sessions
In the second segment, Nathan and I conducted a vital postmortem on the Bitcoin civil war and the failed BIP-110 fork, which fell more than 700 blocks behind after 99.85% of Bitcoin's hashpower stayed with the legacy chain. In my view, this proved that consensus changes are incredibly hard to achieve, yet the centralisation pressure on our digital citadel is only growing. We discussed Wall Street's push to capture Bitcoin supply—such as BlackRock dropping its ETF in-kind transfer threshold to $1M to pull more assets into Coinbase custody—alongside recent self-custody exploits like the tragic $100M+ Cold Card entropy breach and Trezor's shipping provider data leak. Despite these challenges, I believe that exiting this battle is simply not an option if we want to defend our individual sovereignty and move from subordinate to sovereign.
